Task: Facades design and building concept of the old “Energie Zentrale” at the Seebeckwerft in Bremerhaven
Die Neue Energie Zentrale NEZ is a multifunktional building at the old Seebeck werft in Bremerhaven, with a restaurant and café on ground levels right in front of new refurbished water channel. Offices over 2 levels and 3 floors for apartments.
The building is integrated into the new masterplan for the old harbor, the architecture gets inspired by the surroundings and the history of the area. The old warehouses has been integrated into the concept with a stronger mixture of architectural forms .
NeueEnergieZentrale NEZ : in the 1970´s the building used to be the power energy plant for the Seebeckwerft; the idea was to develop a building as a power plant for new ways of energy production, for example with solar panels integrated into the facade or with algae panels to generate green energy.
The interiors should reflect the simplicity of the building, at the same time they should give the idea of being in a fabric, in an energy building , through the materials, pattern and colors.
The building used to be the power energy plant for the Seebeckwerft. The architecture gets inspired by the surroundings and the history of the area. The forms should reflect the werft architecture from the past combined with the architecture from today.
